The Explorer returned to its original 36mm size in 2021, then surprised collectors in 2023 when reference 224270 pushed it back up to 40mm. This is the current production spec: same Mercator-dial layout the Explorer has used since the 1960s, scaled to modern proportions.
40mm 904L steel Oyster case, smooth polished bezel, flat black lacquer dial with the famous 3-6-9 Arabic numerals in white gold surrounds. Chromalight blue lume in the hands and indices.
