For reference, a real Rolex 3135 is rated at ±2 seconds per day under COSC. Most owners find Miyota accuracy more than sufficient for daily wear.

The exterior is identical — same 904L Oystersteel case, same Cerachrom bezel, same sapphire crystal, same dial, hands and bracelet. The difference is the movement: the Japanese tier uses a Miyota automatic (8215 or 9015), while the Swiss tier uses an ETA 2824-2 clone or a Dandong DG3804-B / clone 3135 caliber that mimics the genuine Rolex movement layout. Visually on the wrist the two tiers are indistinguishable.

Miyota calibers are standard, mass-produced movements that any independent watchmaker can clean, oil, regulate and repair using off-the-shelf parts. Clone Swiss calibers, by contrast, can be difficult to source parts for and many watchmakers refuse to work on them.

With basic care — avoid magnets, get it serviced every 5–7 years, don't drop it on tile — a Miyota-powered super clone will keep accurate time for a decade or longer. The exterior (904L steel, sapphire, ceramic) is essentially as durable as a genuine Rolex; the movement is the only real wear item.

The cost difference is almost entirely the movement. Miyota calibers are mass-produced in Japan at scale and cost a fraction of what a clone Swiss caliber costs to source.
