The 16613 takes the Submariner and gives it a two-tone twist. The case and bracelet mix Oystersteel with 18k yellow gold – a combo Rolex calls Rolesor. The black dial keeps it looking sharp rather than gaudy.
The bezel is yellow gold with a black aluminum insert. That 60-minute scale is easy to read and the unidirectional rotation prevents you from accidentally adding dive time you don’t have.
The Oyster bracelet features gold center links and has a Fliplock extension. With 300m water resistance and the Triplock crown, this is still a real dive watch despite the dressy materials.
The dial has those classic oversized indices and Mercedes hands – the Submariner look that hasn’t changed much in decades. Lume on the hands and markers means you can read it in the dark.
Rolex made the 16613 from 1988 to 2009. It sits in a nice spot between the all-steel and all-gold versions, giving you that luxe look without going full precious metal.
