About the Datejust

The Datejust is the most-produced Rolex of all time and probably the most-worn luxury watch on earth. We carry 100 of them in stock right now, in both 36mm and 41mm cases, on Jubilee or Oyster bracelets, in steel, two-tone, and white gold. Every famous dial is here: the Wimbledon slate with green Roman numerals, the Tiffany blue, the champagne, the meteorite, the palm dial, the mother-of-pearl. If you only ever own one Rolex in your life, this is the one most collectors will tell you to buy. Japanese tier from $359, Swiss tier from $999.

Super Clone Rolex Datejust

The Most Quietly Important Rolex

Rolex put the first Datejust out in 1945 to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary. Hans Wilsdorf, who founded Rolex in 1905, wanted a watch to mark the moment. What he ended up making turned out to be more important than he expected. The Datejust was the first wristwatch in the world that changed its own date automatically at midnight. That sounds like nothing today, but in 1945 it was a real engineering problem nobody had solved cleanly. Before the Datejust, you had to push a tiny pin or pull the crown every morning to advance the date by hand. After the Datejust, you didn't. Within a decade every watchmaker on earth had copied the idea, which is why almost every wristwatch you have ever seen with a date window owes that little aperture to a 1945 Rolex.

What made it stick wasn't just the date mechanism. It was the rest of the design. The fluted bezel that catches light from across a room. The Cyclops magnifier on the crystal — that little bubble of glass that makes the date readable without squinting. The Jubilee bracelet, a five-piece link design Rolex created specifically for the Datejust the same year. The 36mm case in proportions that have not changed in eighty years. Every one of those details became standard equipment on what people call a 'classic dress watch.' Eisenhower wore one during his presidency. Martin Luther King Jr. wore one. Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, every president from Roosevelt forward. The Datejust became the working uniform of the people who actually ran the 20th century, and it never went out of style because it was never trying to be in style in the first place.

The modern Datejust catalog is huge — bigger than any other Rolex collection — and we stock 100 of them. The 36mm case is the historically correct size, the one Eisenhower and JFK wore, and it fits wrists up to about 7 inches. The 41mm case is the modern preference, slightly bolder on the cuff, made for wrists 7 inches and up. The Wimbledon dial (slate grey with green Roman numerals, a tribute to the Rolex partnership with the All-England Tennis Club) is the single most-searched modern Datejust dial and we carry it in both case sizes. The Tiffany blue dial, the champagne with diamond hour markers, the real meteorite slice, the green palm, the mother-of-pearl — all here. Two-tone Rolesor (the steel and gold combination Rolex invented in 1933) bridges the dressy and sporty looks if you want something between a sport watch and full gold. White gold variants for the people who want the look of platinum without the weight.

A note on what we copy and what we don't. The case dimensions, the lug width, the fluted bezel that catches light the same way, the Cyclops magnifier in real sapphire glass, the Jubilee bracelet with the right link spacing, the dial layout, the date wheel position, the satisfying click when the date changes at midnight, the weight on your wrist — all of that we get right on both tiers. Where we cut corners is the gold. The two-tone Rolesor and the full-gold versions use a heavy gold plating on the steel case and bracelet, not solid 18K gold. This is the only honest way to keep a Datejust replica at $359 or $999 — a real two-tone Datejust starts around $10,000 and a solid gold one starts around $30,000 because the metal alone is worth thousands. The plating we use is thick and durable, won't tarnish under normal wear, and looks identical to solid gold visually. If you weigh it on a scale next to a real one, the real one is heavier. If you wear it on your wrist, nobody can tell. The other thing worth knowing is the movement: real Datejusts run the Caliber 3235 with a 70-hour power reserve and COSC chronometer certification. Our Swiss tier gives you the 70 hours and the smooth sweep but no COSC certificate. Our Japanese tier runs about 40 hours.

What to Expect

💰

Japanese From $359, Swiss From $999

Two tiers, two prices. Japanese Miyota automatic from $359 if you want the look at the lowest price. Swiss ETA-clone from $999 with a 70-hour power reserve and the instant midnight date change.

📅

Real Cyclops Magnifier

The little glass bubble over the date is real sapphire, bonded over the dial, with the correct 2.5x magnification. Not a sticker, not a printed effect. The Cyclops is the most recognized feature of any Rolex with a date and we get it right.

💎

Fluted Bezel

The signature Datejust fluted bezel that catches light at every angle. Available in steel finish or in 18K-style yellow gold and rose gold plating. Same finish on both tiers.

🔗

Jubilee or Oyster Bracelet

The five-piece Jubilee bracelet was designed specifically for the Datejust in 1945 and is the more dressy option. The three-link Oyster is sportier. We offer both on every reference.

📐

36mm and 41mm

Both case sizes available. The 36mm is the historically correct size — what Eisenhower wore — and fits wrists up to 7 inches. The 41mm wears bolder for wrists 7 inches and up. Same dial options on both.

Datejust Replica — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Wimbledon Datejust?

The Wimbledon is the collector nickname for any Datejust with the slate-grey dial and the green Roman numerals. The name comes from Rolex's long partnership with the All-England Tennis Club and The Championships at Wimbledon, where the green and grey color scheme is the official tournament look. It was launched in the late 2000s and became one of the most-searched modern Datejust dials almost immediately. The 41mm version is the reference 126334 and the 36mm version is the 126234, both with either the Jubilee or the Oyster bracelet. We stock all four combinations on both tiers ($359 Japanese / $999 Swiss). It is also one of the few Datejust dials that works equally well with a t-shirt and a suit, which is a big part of why it sells so well.

Should I buy the 36mm or the 41mm Datejust?

Honest answer: measure your wrist first. If your wrist is under 7 inches around, buy the 36mm. If it is 7 inches or larger, you have a choice and the 41mm is the one most people pick now because the bigger case looks more modern. The 36mm is the historically correct size that Eisenhower and JFK and Sinatra wore — it is not small, it is just not big the way modern watches got big. On a 7-inch wrist the 36mm reads dressy and refined and works under a suit cuff. The 41mm reads bolder and wears slightly more like a sport watch. Both have the same dial options, the same bracelets, the same movement. If you are a woman or have a small wrist, also look at the 31mm and 28mm Lady-Datejust collection — those cases are sized specifically for smaller wrists.

Which Datejust should I actually buy?

Buy the 36mm steel Datejust with a silver or white dial and a Jubilee bracelet. I know that sounds boring, but this exact combination is the single most versatile luxury watch ever made. It works with a t-shirt, a wedding, a board meeting, a pool, and a coffin. You will not get tired of it in 30 years. Eisenhower wore essentially this exact watch. So did half the Fortune 500. The Wimbledon (slate dial with green Roman numerals) is the second pick if you want something with a small visual signature. The Tiffany blue is the third pick if you want something prettier and slightly more modern. Skip the diamond hour markers unless you specifically want a bling watch — they look great in photos and louder than you expect on the wrist. Skip the loud colors (the bright pink or purple Lady-Datejust dials, the green palm dial) unless you already own a silver one. The Datejust is the watch you wear forever. Pick something you will still love when you are 70.

Is the gold on the two-tone Datejust real 18K?

No, and the honest reason is that real 18K gold would make the watch cost ten thousand dollars instead of three hundred and fifty-nine. Our two-tone Rolesor Datejust uses a heavy gold plating on the bezel, the center bracelet links, and the crown. The plating is thick, durable, won't tarnish or rub off under normal wear, and looks identical to solid gold visually. The steel parts are real 904L Oystersteel. A genuine two-tone Datejust at the official shop starts at around $10,000 to $14,000 because the gold alone is worth thousands of dollars per watch. We pass that saving to you by plating instead of using solid metal — that is the only way a $359 or $999 replica price is mathematically possible. If you weigh our two-tone next to a real one, the real one is slightly heavier. If you wear ours every day, nobody can tell.

What is the difference between the Datejust and the Day-Date?

The Datejust shows only the date in a small window at 3 o'clock. The Day-Date adds the full day of the week — Wednesday, Thursday, etc. — spelled out across an arc at 12 o'clock. The Day-Date is also only made in precious metals: 18K gold or platinum. There is no steel Day-Date and there never has been. The Day-Date is nicknamed the President because it has been worn by almost every U.S. president since Eisenhower, and the bracelet on the Day-Date is called the President bracelet for the same reason. The Datejust is the everyday-luxury watch. The Day-Date is the formal-power watch. We carry both — the Datejust here, and the Day-Date as its own collection.

Does the Cyclops magnifier really work on the replica?

Yes. The Cyclops lens on our Datejust is real sapphire glass with a true 2.5x magnification over the date window — exactly matching the genuine Rolex specification. It is not a sticker, not a printed effect, not a plastic dome. Both the Japanese and the Swiss tier use real bonded sapphire. The reason this matters is that the Cyclops is one of the easiest things to get wrong on a cheap fake — bad fakes either skip the Cyclops entirely or use a flat plastic bubble that doesn't actually magnify, and the difference is visible from across a room. Ours magnifies the date the way it is supposed to, which is the single most recognized visual feature of a Datejust.
