The 36mm Datejust is the original size from the 1945 launch, and it remains the proportions Hans Wilsdorf specified when the model debuted as the first wristwatch with a self-changing date. Reference 126233 is the two-tone steel and yellow gold version in current production, here with a glossy black dial.
Fluted bezel in yellow-gold tone, the geometry originally functional (used to screw the bezel onto the case) now purely decorative. Applied gold-tone baton indices, date window at 3 under the Cyclops lens. Jubilee bracelet in matching two-tone with the five-link pattern designed in 1945 for the Datejust's 40th anniversary year.
