Superclones from $999 — Rolex Swiss Clone Calibers

Superclone is our highest build tier. Reserved for Daytona, GMT-Master, Sky-Dweller, Land-Dweller. Powered by either a Swiss ETA base caliber (typically 2824-2 or 2836-2) or a clone caliber reverse-engineered from a real Rolex movement like the 3135, 3235, 4130, or 9001. Each of these four models was picked because its defining complication — chronograph, true GMT, annual calendar, integrated bracelet — needs the Swiss caliber to work the way it's supposed to.

Chinese-made movements that reverse-engineer the architecture of the real Rolex calibers with the same number. Clone-4130 mirrors the Rolex Caliber 4130 — the real Daytona chronograph movement with vertical clutch and column wheel. Clone-3285 mirrors the real GMT-Master II caliber with jumping local hour. Clone-9001 mirrors the 380-part Sky-Dweller caliber with working annual calendar. Under the rotor they're visually near-identical to the real thing.

No, and we don't use that term. Swiss Made is a legally protected label under Swiss federal law that requires at least 60 percent of the value, final assembly, and technical development to happen in Switzerland. Our Superclone tier uses either real Swiss ETA bases (which are Swiss-made movements) or Chinese-made clone calibers in the Swiss style. The finished watch is not Swiss Made in the regulated sense and we don't claim it is.

Factory-fresh Superclone typically runs ±3 to ±5 seconds per day, inside or very close to COSC chronometer spec (–4/+6 seconds per day). Clone-3235 and clone-4130 movements tend to run tighter than ETA 2824 bases. Any independent watchmaker can regulate them even more precisely if needed.

Exterior is identical. Same 904L Oystersteel case, same Cerachrom ceramic bezel, same sapphire crystal, same dial, hands, bracelet. Difference is the movement. Superclone uses an ETA base or Rolex clone caliber for best-possible accuracy and the signature 28,800 bph sweep. Replica uses a Miyota 8215 or 9015 for significantly lower price and easier worldwide service. Visually on the wrist the two tiers are indistinguishable. Superclone decision is purely about the movement.

Depends on the caliber. Pieces on ETA 2824-2 base run around 38 to 42 hours. Clone-3135 movements typically hit 48 hours, matching the real 3135. Clone-3235, clone-4130, and clone-9001 movements all deliver around 70 to 72 hours of reserve. Long enough to take the watch off Friday night, leave it on the dresser all weekend, and pick it up Monday morning still running.

Depends on the watchmaker. ETA 2824/2836 bases are fully standard movements any independent watchmaker can clean, oil, regulate with off-the-shelf parts. Clone-3135/3235/4130/9001 calibers are harder. Many watchmakers refuse to work on them, parts aren't as widely available, and you typically have to send the watch to a specialist who handles replica movements. This is the main practical trade-off against the Replica tier.

Cost difference is almost entirely the movement. ETA bases and Rolex clone calibers cost several times what a Miyota 8215 costs to source, and the clone calibers specifically require more complex manufacturing, finer finishing, and more quality control. Everything else on the watch — case, dial, bracelet, finishing labor — is identical across both tiers.
