Measure your wristThe Yacht-Master launched in 1992 as Rolex's first sport watch born in solid gold rather than steel, a deliberate positioning move that placed it between the Submariner's tool-watch DNA and the dress-oriented Day-Date. Reference 16628 is the original 40mm yellow-gold execution of that idea, produced from 1992 until the mid-2000s when the 16628B series took over.
Our take comes in yellow-gold-plated finish over a 40mm Oyster case, paired with the white lacquer dial that reads as the most formal of the Yacht-Master configurations. Raised gold-tone indices, Mercedes hour hand, and the bidirectional 60-minute bezel with raised polished numerals on a sandblasted gold ground (the visual signature of the line).
